Review of Ekol Crystal 5
Very happy!
Had this stove 6 months now and it is well worn in. We burn a lot of coke and after a few hours the heat is terrific. Our front room is 4m x 4m, and this stove is probably too big for the room. We leave the room door open and it heats right up to the attic. All parts still in working order, I find the knobs easy to flick back and forth even when hot and the lever handle has a positive grip. It does get very hot, but the stove came with a mitt. The airwash works better with wood than coke, and is no help at all if your fuel is not clean. Also have found it very simple to clean the glass with a wet cloth dipped in ash(once the stove is cold).
Stove expert replied: Wood ash only to be used for cleaning the glass and smokeless fuels should be used (watch coke as this can burn too hot so check the fuel details). Good comments for this model.
