Review of Ekol Clarity 5 low
Very Impressed
We bought this just before the winter in 2015 and although not a cold winter, it is our only heat source so had it on most of the time from October to March. To be honest it gets some harsh abuse and we treat it badly but it just keeps going strong kicking out the heat. The control is impressive, once we get it really hot then we just turn it down and the glass stays clear even when turned down quite a bit. Sometimes we have it burning through the night then the glass gets sooty but it is easy to wipe and a hot fire in the morning soon clears the window again. The fire feels very well made compared to some much more expensive stoves we have had in the past. The grate is solid and seems like it will last well. The glass broke when I shut the door on a big log but I guess this can happen with any stove. Replacement didn't cost too much and arrived quickly and was easy to fit.
The handle gets hot when it is at full heat but I guess it would do being stainless steel and it does feel very solid. For a small stove it kicks out decent heat but as our only source of heat in the house I should have got the 8kW. We may get another ekol for the back of the house.
