Unbelievable
I have one for the past few weeks and have burned both coal and wood. I am taken back with the ease of use and the heat output. I put on three logs one day and controlled the burn down. I came back four hours later and the room was really warm. i then threw on two more logs and opened the air intake. I had a lovely blaze going in minutes. I also went for the enamel finish and it looks really good.
Stove Expert Replied: Popular model which works well. Good review in all areas.

Warm and Toasty
Stove installed with an insulated liner. Lights very easily and once the cast iron warms up it produces lots of heat. Also built a convection box around the stove using Skamolex, which can be a pain to work with as its very soft, but does throw heat from the stove into the room. Perhaps a bit over the top but it can only help the efficiency. The fire box is not large but ideal for a medium sized room. Burning overnight is not really possible with wood. I've not tried coal yet. Cool touch removable handle is a great idea and well finished in stainless steel. With the handle removed accidental opening of the door is not possible - a good safety feature. Wood consumption is around two logs each 1 1/2 hours for a good output and with dry wood the glass does stay clean. Once burning hot and limiting the air wash to around half way, nice lazt flames are produced. Recommend a thermometer for the flue to prevent overheating of the liner. All in all, an excellent investment - roll on winter. Highlands of Scotland - I laugh in your general direction!.

DRU 44
The Dru 44 is a nice little stove. I say little, as you can't get that much wood into it, so its never going to have a high heat output, but it will fit nicely into a typical opened up fireplace.
It's simple to operate and is easy to light. It takes a good hour or two before it gets up to heat, but there's a lot of cast iron to warm up ;)
With the small size, its no good to burn overnight. Even during the day I find it needs a log or two added every hour.
Would I buy this stove again? I think I'd buy the next size up, nothing wrong with Dru stoves, just would prefer something a little bigger!

DRU 44 Multifuel
We live in a poorly insulated (soon to change), concrete council house at the end of a terrace, so our heating needs are high. However, knowing we are slowly but surely improving this, we didn't want to get too big a stove. I installed a DRU44 after much deliberation and we haven't looked back. Initially we were burning soft wood logs, and though impressed by the heat, were shocked at the amount of fuel consumed. Now we burn a mix of log and ecobrite smokeless coal. The result is fantastic! We have had a very severe cold snap this winter but our DRU has provided more than ample heat. Once it's going, we now leave the sitting room door open so the heat travels upstairs and warms the rest of the house.
The build quality is high and I love the simple design - no rodents or frilly stuff on this little baby!
We haven't got the hang of overnight burning as we haven't really needed to. I'm told turf is good for this but I don't know. Though I placed the stove in front of the chimney rather than in it, the chimney is acting like a storage heater, releasing warmth all next day. I installed a steel flu liner and I recommend doing this as the draw is great.
