Review of Dovre 250 stove

We have a small lounge and small builders opening to the chimney. We chose this stove as it is a small stove with a large glass area. It has exceeded our expectations, it has real character with the flames often more entertaining than the telly!

\nLast winter 2008/09, as gas prices went up and temperatures went down we were warm, and felt warm, which you sometimes do not feel from a radiator ! The stove is hot in about 20 mins and totally burns all wood to a fine light coloured ash which we empty every four or five days. The glass gets a little discoloured at the bottom and we clean it every three or four days with a wood ash / water mix.

\nOur stove is cast iron with a solid floor, we use it every evening in winter and after two years it still looks great.
