Review of Coalbrookdale Severn stove

Advice please

Joan Rutherford 10 years ago

We bought our Severn boiler stove 'as new' but second-hand over twenty years ago and it has been a faithful servant all that time, Heating 7 radiators and loads of hot water using mainly anthracite with occasional logs when we have a supply.

We came home from a short break recently to find the stove had water in it and had obviously sprung a small boiler leak.

Various companies have been out to have a look and give us a quote for a new stove (OUCH!!!) but the last chap told us that he had fitted a replacement boiler to a similar stove last year. I know that the Severn isn't made any more but does anyone know if replacement boiler assemblies are still available and where from?

Stove expert replied: www.stovespares.co.uk - may be able to assist you with a replacement boiler. Manufacturers normally have replacement parts for several years after a stove has been discontinued so it is quite possible that one will still be available.
