Review of Coalbrookdale Severn stove

25 Years and still a gem!

Clive Wood 10 years ago

After 25 years of solid use in Scotland, this stove is still going well. Coalbrookdale are now part of Aga, so you can still get some spares.

In the period, we have replace glass (logs too big for the fire.. my fault) and about 8 bars in the grate. This week I have tried to replace the bottom support bracket under the grate. This cracked and we have now found a spare that is a slightly different size. It may need to be re-drilled. The old model may be slightly larger than more modern versions.

In all a great buy, and still going strong despite my efforts to break it! Shame they are no longer in production...My system has inhibitor.. we top this up every few years and wash the system. Otherwise no problems
