Review of Clearview vision insert stove

Clearview Vision Inset

Mark 11 years ago

Had this fire professionally installed 12 months ago in the lounge to replace a condemmed gas focal point fire and supplement an inefficient central heating system.

The fitters were exceptional and fitted it in one day.

After a few days we had a knock on the door from a neighbour one morning complaining of black soot smuts all over his house.

On checking he was right the soot was everywhere. Checked the fire and the glass was black with tar with an unburnt log in the grate.

As far as I can gather I had shut down the regulators too far and/or bought some dodgy wood [ too wet etc ].

Have not had a problem since and have found the fire to be exceptional in all respects and has exceeded my expectations.

The fire has transformed the lounge and the ability to control the airflow so precisely is brilliant.

This fire is expensive no question and I thought long and hard before laying out the cash but you get what you pay for and I have no doubt I made the right choice, and would not hesitate to buy the same make again or reccommend to others. I am quite critical about items like this and can honestly say that I cannot fault this fire.

Stove expert replied: Only use wood that has a moisture content of 20% or less on a closed appliance.
