THE ROLLS ROYCE

W Rice 15 years ago

Can't fault this masterpiece. The only seal on the stove as far as I can see is the back panel, which is DOUBLE welded, inside and out. The heavy rope seal seals the low canopy. We installed a flexible steel flue and insulated it, and overnight burning is simple. It takes 18" logs which means less work preparing the fuel. The doors are so simple to adjust when the rope seals begin to compress, and the double glazed doors mean cooling room temperatures don't affect the inside glass which stays hot. Boiler options would tar up the glass we were told, but as yet we haven't had a problem although we do burn dry ash and sycamore. The stove is on the pricey side but we were told it was considered to be the Rolls Royce of stoves and we have to agree. Some people are going to have grumbles with anything, but a lot of the problems could be fuel or installation issues. The stoves do exactly what they say on the tin. I would have liked a thermostatic control but it doesn't actually matter too much because the stove controls so beautifully. Wholeheartedly recommend. The best appliance we have ever bought.\n\n
