Review of Clearview 750 stove

We have had our Clearview stove for 1 year. It is installed with an insulated stainless liner.\n\nThe stove is very well made and the airwash works brillaintly. We only ever lightly wipe off a thin grey film of ash from the glass once in a while, but it never soots up. We use a stove thermometer on the exhaust and make sure we run it up to temperature quickly. Once it is hot it will burn anything cleanly, although it is far and away best to use well seasoned wood, when the stovebox stays very hot even with the controls shut right down.\n\nI have never been able to keep the stove in overnight. Perhaps that would be possible if it was allowed to cool down and then banked up heavily with wet wood, but that is a recipe for tarring up the chimney. It is to easy to light and get up to temperature, that I don't mind in the slightest that it doesn't stay lit overnight.\n\nThe large firebox takes big logs, which dramatically reduces wood chopping time and the big clean glass doors give a great view of the fire.\n\nMinor gripe on the finish, as a flake of black paint came off the door, but easily remedied. Expensive, but worth it in the long run.
