Review of Churchill 5 stove

Fantastic stove!

I really cannot say enough positive things about this stove. It is FANTASTIC!

- ours is the Churchill 5 that is the same build as the 6 and 8 by the way, not the one pictured.

We needed a modern looking stove that wasn't too deep as I wanted to flue it from the back to bring it further into the room, but not too much but at the same time be able to fit decent size logs as well, so after much searching this fitted the bill.

It's very easy to light, kindling, paper, shut the door open the air and it lights every time, none of this leaving the door slightly ajar that I have had in the past.

The heat is unreal for a 5 kw stove, ours is in a 4.5 x 4.0 Metre room with slightly higher than usual ceilings for a 1930's semi, and we always have to have the door open it gets that warm, which is due in part to bringing it forward out of the inglenook - I can never understand why people fit stoves inside the inglenook then complain the room doesn't warm up?

Lasts about an hour between refuelling and gets going again very easily.

The only very minor points to it are the glass does blacken easily even with the top air all the way open, and burning seasoned Ash, and the adjustable feet for levelling are 8mm bolts that unless you put the stove on it's back and re tap the holes yourself are useless.

I binned them and used two pence pieces to level it.

But as I say, in the bigger picture it's nothing, the stove looks great, burns great, heats the room great, and lights great.

You cannot go wrong with it!
