Review of Charnwood Island II stove

Quality

Stuart Coulthard 14 years ago

I baulked at the purchase price but decided that quality and longevity were the key criteria as we intended living in the property for a long time. Our location is 10 miles from Aviemore in a region that holds the UK record for cold, -27 deg C, with lots of frosty weather rolling off the Cairngorm mountains.\n\nWith a good supply of 2 year seasoned pine, this stove keeps the core of our cottage warm (a large kitchen/dining room)all day. Occasionally, I'll also use coal, but only if I need to keep it ticking over overnight.\n\nNothing has needed replacing or has malfunctioned in nearly 3 years of heavy use. The controls are easy to use and very functional. There is a large clear view of flames with an ample fire box. This has been an excellent choice of unit which is very economical and green compared to any other fuel system. \n
