Review of Charnwood Country 16 b stove

A great stove

Kim Sale 12 years ago

We bought this boiler stove aiming to heat our 11 radiators in our three bed-roomed high ceiling house. It took a while to set it up, not the stove but the existing piping that had to be changed around. We had gas central heating prior to the stove which was expensive and inefficient and didn't heat the house properly. The boiler stove is great. Having said that, we have had a free source of wood for the past three years. I estimate that if the stove was running all the time during the day, you would use two thirds of a load of wood a week to keep the house warm (£50).\nAnother point is that we managed to heat the stove up so much that we have broken the retainer grill. This is not covered by the consumables guarantee!\nStill really pleased.\n\n

Stove expert replied: If you have heated the stove to such an extent that you have already broken the retainer grill I would suggest that you get a stove thermometer to insure that you are not overfiring this product. Stoves have an optimum working temperature and if you exceed this you can shorten the life expectancy of the components.
