Review of Charnwood C 5 stove

Good Stove but a few teething issues.

Mr Wood 8 years ago

I bought and had installed the Charwood C5 and have had it burning 25/30 times. The look is great and provided you used decent dry wood you can get a really nice warm fire from it. I’ve not had much luck burning seasoned hard wood on it but kiln dried soft wood works really well. But I do have a couple of issues regarding the smell and sound from the stove, a fishy / chemical smell is given off at around 150-200 degrees, to the point my wife can’t sit in the room.

Also the flue can mumble/hum when the choke is fully open and fire is burning hard.

Overall I DO really like this stove but I am unhappy with a few aspects.
