Review of Charnwood C 5 stove

Bigger firebox?

Andy Stocks 9 years ago

Bought the C5 in Nov 14, nice big viewing window and it is great as a wood burner.

The only issue we have is that fitting the multifuel grate does reduce the chamber considerably. With a bed of coals in the firebox and if you add a log it is quite near the throat plate and the resulting flames go around the plate and may enter the chimney past the deflector.

Not the easiest to control either when burning solid fuel, seems to have the control rod in high or boost position to maintain a healthy flue temp at about 130 degrees.
