Review of Charnwood C 5 stove

Smokey Glass

John Carling 9 years ago

We had this stove installed in Feb 2014, we had big problems with it drawing too much, had the installer back three times to try different things with the air control. He even fitted a storm cowl, this resulted on no draw at all and filling the room up with smoke when we lit it. It was removed and the original put back on.

It does depend on how dry your logs are, but we are cleaning the glass every.

Reading all the other reviews, this seems to be an issue with the C5, I'm a little disappointed that Charnwood has not dealt with this positivity.

Stove expert replied: Is the chimney lined and was a damper used to see if better control was gained? Strange that fitting a cowl made so much difference, what type of cowl was fitted? It may not be the stove but an installation / flue problem.
