Review of Burley Hollywell 9105 stove

Fantastic Stove

Bob Dobalina 6 years ago

We have been using this stove for two years now, with a full height twin wall flue. We could not be happier with our choice. It really kicks out the heat, you get some funny looks when putting out the recycling at night with flip-flops and a t-shirt on when it's minus degrees outside, but toastie as hell inside the house! We find the glass does not cloud up during use, if you burn with the air control just under half way. It is a bit dirty in the morning, but this could be from the last burn from the night before and is soon wiped clean. Best to run this stove at its optimum range, not overnight slumbering. I'm quite happy to burn all sorts of dry wood, soft wood, hard wood, plain wood pallets, and I'm just burning right now some hard wood window frames from a window fitting mate. I simply pull the nails out from the fire box with a magnet, when I give it a once a week clean up. Never needed a chimney sweep. Running your house on cheap/free fuel? What's not to like about that.

Stove expert replied: Do have your chimney swept at least one per season to insure that the airways remain clear, even burning dry seasoned fuel will leave deposits and these need to be cleaned regularly to prevent a build up in the flue system.
