Review of Burley Hollywell 9105 stove

Update on the Burley hollywell after a few months of use

Daniel Sutcliffe 6 years ago

Well I''ve been using the stove on and off for a few months now and I have to say that the stove produces a lot more ash than what is stated in the usual sales brochure jargon how they managed to condense a 100kg stack of logs into a pint of ash just baffles me they must have had very heavy and dense logs and only burnt about ten of them. My log basket holds about 20kg of logs and if I burn a full basket it will nearly fill the stove with ash and therefore requires more emptying. The other problem is that the so called stainless steel baffle plate isn''t up to the job, the mesh screen is so flimsy it has already burnt through after very little use. I think burley need to do a redesign here and make it out of some heavier grade material. Especially due to the extremely high temperatures involved in the secondary burn process, because if you have to replace it two or three times a season it will get expensive at £65 a time.
