Review of Burley Hollywell 9105 stove

Disappointing waste of money

Alison Marshall 8 years ago

We replaced our previous stove with the Burley Holywell after reading online reviews which stated this was an excellent stove. As far as we are concerned this has been nothing but a waste of money. Our installer fitted very quickly after we ordered, and he stated also everyone found it a very good stove and recommended it.

Ours does not burn efficiently. It produces so much ash it has to be emptied every second day. The glass does not remain clean and clear. We do not get the fireball effect promised. This stove goes through significant amounts of wood.

We contacted our installer however he wasn't interested in trying to fix our problems. Eventually we telephoned Burley who on this occasion were helpful. The stove hadn't been put together properly and we were guided through doing this. However the issues still remained and a further call was made to Burley who appeared to ultimately suggest the issue was our flue (which has worked perfectly with other stoves). The product certainly doesn't live up to its description. Buying this was a huge mistake

Stove expert replied: You say that the stove is using a great deal of wood, it is likely to be a flue draw issue and even though you have had stoves before they do vary and their requirements also vary. The installation needs to be fully check to insure that it complies with the manufacturers instructions which is what Burley seem to have gone through with you when you made contact with them.
