Review of Burley Brampton 9108 stove

Another Brampton with opaque glass

Bought my Brampton in Dec 2014. Very impressed at first, kicks out a lot of heat and the rolling flames looked great.

Then the left side of the glass became more and more difficult to clean until the entire left half of the glass had become opaque. Went back to the dealer a couple of months ago and they contacted Burley. Normal patter about over-firing (which I don't do) and Burley kindly agreed to provide a free replacement glass. Having burned it for a couple of months, the new glass is starting to go opaque in the same place.

I don't believe this is an installation problem - unless a lot of different installers are all putting the Bramptons in wrongly.

Seems to me that Burley know they have a problem but don't have a fix. I can't keep replacing the glass so, if there is no fix, then it will be a change of stove ( and not a Burley again)

Stove expert replied: Have you tried changing the fuel as this may help? Have you got full control of the stove? Can the stove shut right down to a slumber mode? This is normally due to over-firing of the stove or an over-drawing flue system. A stove thermometer would help to maintain the correct operating temperature.
