Review of Burley Brampton 9108 stove

happy stover

Mike Eichner 9 years ago

I've been using a wood stove in the hall of our very large Victorian house for 23 years. The previous stove was an American Fireview 12kw soapstone model with a ceramic combuster which was top of the range for efficiency at that time, and very expensive. It has been increasingly leaking air around the window and soapstone panels in recent years and I decided to replace it with a Burley 8kw with the direct air option.(The 12kw model would not fit into our fireplace.) What a difference - the Burley outperforms it's predecessor in every way despite being lower rated. More heat, for less logs, more reliable control and much less ash. Downside, it doesn't burn all night and it still has a dodgy door handle, despite this I'm very happy and would recommend Burley.
