Review of Bohemia 40 stove

Bohemia 40

Great looking stove, very similar to a morso 04, clean lines, understated but not boring and doesn't try to look 'olde worlde' like many stoves. For the size of the stove the door is big, you can get a good load of wood in the firebox, three sheets of newspaper and a little kindling gets it roaring in minutes. Airwash seems to work very well, I have had five fires in three days and so far no soot on the door, but I am burning bone dry 100 year old bits of unpainted/unvarnished staircase. Have not attempted to burn overnight, but as stated in another review this isn't wise practice anyway. This stove IS RATED FOR A 12MM HEARTH which helps installation. Hard to tell exactly how hot it makes a cold room, because its june, but i had three skylights and a window open (The stove is in a large attic bedroom) and I was still sweating in shorts and a t-shirt. The handle does get hot, but it is metal so no suprise there! and a Neria branded oven mit is supplied, also available for £20 is a rather nice looking beech wood handle that fits any of the Bohemia range. I got this stove for an absolute bargain price brand new (HALF PRICE), BUT the quality/style/function/features of this stove are certainly worth the RRP. One more thing to say STOVES ARE NOT CHEAP TO INSTALL, DO YOUR RESEARCH, SHOP AROUND, READ DOCUMENT J, GET A CO ALARM. May add a review winter time.
