This was our first experience with multi-fuel stoves, we needed a fairly small stove to fit in an interwar Inglenook style fire-place. This stove provided us with 3 seasons of flawless use before
moving home. We like the simple clean lines and the reliability of sheet steel construction. The air-wash is OK, but needs to be kept over half open to prevent the glass tarring. It was easy to light, easy to control and quick to heat up. If you're cutting your own logs you need quite short length with this stove, and you can only load it with timber for 2 hours bright burn or 3 hours slow burn. A couple of fire-bricks cracked in 3 years, but that's to be expected with almost daily use in the heating season. In summary: an impressive performer considering the small firebox size and very good value for money. In a 3 bed terrace house this dinky stove halved our gas bill.

Stove expert replied: No larger logs than 100mm diam should be used as this will mean that the stove will struggle to burn effectively unless the air controls are more open than normal. Better to go for smaller logs.

Easy to install due to its light weight. The ash pan holds enough for a couple of days burning and is easy to empty. It is small and will burn only short, small section logs. The instructions
seem to indicate that its not suitable for certain coals but burning 80% wood 20% house coal has given no problems to date. Strong smell from the curing paint when lit for the first few times - needs very good ventilation for this not to be a problem. However the smell goes after a few days. The metal door handle gets hot and needs and oven glove (supplied!) to open when the stove is very hot.Heat output is impressive and will heat a small house.

Stove expert replied: Yes most stoves will smell funny on the first few firings. As Oli says ventilate the room well.
