Review of Bergen stove

RE-Review of my Bergen Stove

Tom Langton 10 years ago

As promised here is my update- I mentioned that the stove seemed a bit sluggish and reluctant at first- and that I would consider a liner for the chimney if things didn't settle down- Well here is my update.

Had the chimney swept today after 6 months or so.. And I found the cause of the "sluggishness" It seems the fitter (who also swept the chimney" lost his brush up the chimney!! causing a blockage of sorts. On first lighting since the brush was removed from the chimney the stove is transformed! I loved it before I am now over the moon! great great stove!

Stove expert replied: This is very disturbing as the installer should not have left the brush in the flue which could be very dangerous as the flue gases would not have free passage to get away. I am pleased to hear that now all is well.
