Review of ACR Neo 3P

Aesthetics or longevity?

Steven Watson 2 years ago

When looking for a free standing stove in November 21 to go into our conservatory it wasn’t hard to imagine the beautiful looking Neo 3p being the one for us.

After installation early in January we followed the firing instructions from the supplied booklet and after the bedding in period all seemed well and it was heating the conservatory nicely. After a few days we noticed jets of air from the rear vents/air wash where only coming from the holes on one side. We called the installer and asked him to come and look at the stove. Upon examination he found one of the vent retaining bolts was missing its nut and the sealing gasket was loose, this prevented the vent working properly. He fitted a new gasket and bolts to make it work as it should. After using the stove for a few days we noticed a crack in one of the side glasses. Back to the installer who found the crack had radiated from a retaining clip, he said it may have been due to over tightening or movement during transportation; in any event it wasn’t a manufacturer’s warranty item and I had to pay for it myself. Another issue has arisen, this time the front curved class; in several places very fine groups of fissures have appeared, and guess what, they are not covered under the warranty and will cost in the region of £400 to replace.

My opinion, these may be isolated problems but never the less should have been warranty items. So if you want a Neo 3p wood burning stove expect high maintenance costs.

Stove expert replied: Glass isn't covered under warranty on any stove. From experience ACR have been very helpful when it comes to replacing the glass, maybe your installer didn't speak to them directly as £400 is incorrect
