Small but HOT
Very happy with this stove , its fitted with a boiler so heats my water but is not big enough for central heating ....I have a one bed house and that's all the heating I have. With sea coal and wood on the beach here in Northumberland I don't have to pay for any fuel but you do have to collect it? Build quality very good and will stay in all night with coal if heaped up in the stove and controls set to just above minimum. Beat the fuel costs and fit a stove but do read the reviews and get a good one. I did a lot of the work myself fitting the stove and only had a plumber in for 3 hours so not as expensive as you may imagine, did not need to line the chimney as the original 1875 chimney was in good repair
Stove Expert Replied: Do watch the salt in the fuel and insure that it is dry. Probably not the best fuel to use!!

Aarrow Acorn 4/5 stove
I bought this to heat my garden shed, sized 12 x 8 feet. Be aware that flue etc can cost almost as much as the stove! (But that goes for most stoves I guess).
Assembly and setup were pretty straightforward.
Usually lights easily, but in certain weather conditions it can take a couple of goes. I find that keeping the door ajar makes it easier to get going. When it's roaring away it's fine, but once it dies down it needs a bit of looking after so that it doesn't go completely out.
It easily provides more than enough heat for the shed, even in the coldest part of winter. (Though I did insulate the shed as well).
Stove Expert Replied: Lighting when the flue is cold can be a problem on all stoves, leaving the door ajar is a good idea to get extra lift of flue gases until flue warmed.

A brilliant little stove. Bought as a secondary heat source to back up a gas boiler, we have found that not only will it heat the lounge and kitchen (it's primary requirement) it will easily warm all of our cosy 2 bed bungalow to a comfortable temperature with a small to medium controlled burn. Because of it's size you have to realise it's limitations, but it works for us and would not hesitate to buy another.
Stove Expert Replied: Small but mighty regarding heat generated, downside is it needs more tending but in many cases it might be the only option due to being so compact. Great little stove.

Top little stove that does exactly what we want it to do - we have a small front room, with the central heating thermostat in it also, and our previous Villager 8KW seriously over-heated the place. If I was going to buy it all over again I might go for a 5KW version as the logs do need to be small, but then I look after 200ha of woodland so it's not a problem.
