Review of Aarrow Ecoburn plus 5 multi fuel stove

Everything we wanted

I thought I would do a quick review as this website proved an invaluable resource when I was stove hunting.

So we've had the stove in for around 4 months now, but really only using is in anger for about 3.

The stove has been fantastic. The Plus model is simply a wider version of the Ecoburn five. It comfortable heats a large living room with enough heat spilling out into adjacent rooms to leave the heating off in (an admittedly mild) February. We have reasonably high ceilings at 3m, so it takes around 30mins for the heat to reach you when sitting down.

It fairly eats hard wood, but I think this applies to all stoves not just this one. Easy to light and quick to take, like all stoves it has its own personality so you will soon get the hang of how much wood and/or coal to use for your room. On that note, I find that starting it big with larger logs then once established, scattering your preferred coal on the bottom with a nice log on top, provides a lovely warmth that will get you very nicely through the 10 o'clock news. It will still be glowing when you get up the following day.

Well built, unfussy, not likely to date like more modern designs. Highly recommended.
